Blue Ivy Wins Her First BET Award Nomination
Blue Ivy was recently nominated for her first BET Award Nomination and it seems she is following her mother’s footsteps. Blue, was nominated for the hit track Brown Skin Girl. The BET award recognizes traditional R&B and Neo-soul artists.
The eight year old competes with big names like Alicia Keys, Lupita Nyongo, Ciara, Miss Elliot’s, Layton Greene, and Lizzo.
The hit song Brown Skin Girl which features Beyoncé, WizKid, and Saint Jhn, has Blue Ivy opening and closing the track singing the lyrics.
Beyoncé has also received three other nominations: best R&B pop artist, best movie for the film and album, “Homecoming.” However, this is not the first time that her daughter has received recognition for the hit track.
In 2019 she won the Ashford and Simpster’s songwriter’s award at the Soul Train Awards. Beyoncé’s mom, Tina Knowles, also commented on her granddaughter’s contribution in the hit track “The Lion King:The Gift.“ Tina said the hit album was incredible and it was amazing that her granddaughter was in it.
In February, it was revealed that Blue Ivy had already gotten herself around one million monthly listeners on Shopify. Although, she was yet to release any solo music or album.
The young girl made her music debut two days after she was born and this was after Jay Z featured her newborn cries in his song “Glory.” Additionally, after her guest appearance, Blue became the youngest person to appear on the billboard chart.
Afterward, Blue’s music career made her feature on several hit songs like Beyoncé’s 2014 Song “Blue“ and “Lift Every Voice and Sing.“ Just like her parents, Blue proves that she too will become a star in the music industry.
