Democratic candidate Stacey Abrams will not concede the governor’s race in Georgia against Republican Brian Kemp. The governor’s race in Georgia is close with Brian Kemp in the lead.

“I’m here tonight to tell you votes remain to be counted. There’s voices that are waiting to be heard,” says Abrams as she gathered around supporters Wednesday morning in Atlanta.

“Across our state, folks are opening up the dreams of voters in absentee ballots, and we believe our chance for a stronger Georgia is just within reach. But we cannot seize it until all voices are heard,” says Abrams. “And I promise you, we’re going to make sure that every vote is counted.”

If Stacey wins the election, she will be the first black female governor in the United States.
